About the job

Fabricators at AKFAL build pipe supports, platforms, skids and structural frames in the Jubail workshop and repair steelwork on client sites. The work is drawing-driven: mark out, cut, fit, tack and hand over to the welder, then check the piece against the drawing before it leaves the shop.

This job sits in the Industrial Support — Skilled Trades division.

What you will do

  • Read fabrication drawings and cutting lists; mark out plate and section
  • Cut with oxy-fuel, plasma and band saw; grind and prepare edges
  • Fit up and tack assemblies square and to tolerance before final welding
  • Operate drills, rolling and bending machines under workshop rules
  • Check finished pieces against the drawing and flag deviations

What we look for

  • 3 years or more as a fabricator or fitter-fabricator in a steel or piping workshop
  • Confident reading structural and piping fabrication drawings
  • Safe use of cutting, grinding and lifting equipment
  • Able to tack-weld; a welding certificate is a plus
  • Basic English or Arabic for drawings and permits

Certificates that help

  • Trade certificate in fabrication or fitting
  • Tack-welding competence or welder certificate
  • Rigging and slinging awareness
  • Workshop safety induction

Questions applicants ask

Do I need experience?

Yes — three or more years in a steel or piping workshop, working from drawings. A helper with less can apply for the helper role and grow into it.

Which certificates do I need?

A trade certificate helps but the trade test decides: you will be given a drawing and material and asked to fabricate a piece to tolerance.

Iqama, transfer and visa

Fabricators inside the Kingdom with a transferable Iqama are placed first. We also hire from abroad through licensed agencies; AKFAL bears the transfer and visa costs.

Hours and shifts

Workshop hours are regular day shifts, six days a week. Site repair work during shutdowns follows the site's shift pattern with paid overtime.

How is salary decided?

Pay depends on the trade test, drawing-reading ability and experience, and is fixed in the written offer. We do not publish figures.
