This page is for Camp Boss work at Dammam. The same trade is hired at other locations too — see below.

About the job

The camp boss runs an AKFAL accommodation camp near Jubail Industrial City end to end: room allocation, mess-hall and food-safety standards, housekeeping and laundry, daily transport to site, and 24-hour security and access control. Clients audit camps; the camp boss is who walks them through and keeps the records that pass.

What you will do

  • Allocate rooms by grade and keep occupancy and asset records
  • Supervise the mess hall, food safety and cook/kitchen staff
  • Run housekeeping, laundry, maintenance requests and pest control
  • Schedule daily bus transport to and from client sites
  • Manage security, access control and camp rules; host client audits

What we look for

  • 3 years or more managing a labour camp or industrial accommodation
  • Knows Saudi camp regulations and client camp-audit checklists
  • Food-safety and hygiene basics; HACCP awareness a plus
  • Speaks English and Arabic; Hindi or Urdu a strong plus
  • Computer literacy for occupancy and reporting

Certificates that help

  • Food safety / HACCP certificate, a plus
  • First aid and fire-warden training
  • Camp management or facilities experience letters
  • Driving licence

Working in Dammam

Dammam and the Dammam–Khobar–Dhahran metro area hold the Second and Third Industrial Cities, King Abdulaziz Port, power and desalination plants, and the regional offices of the EPC and maintenance contractors AKFAL works with. The work is more varied than in Jubail: factory maintenance, warehousing and logistics, utilities and camp services alongside plant trades.

Plants and projects

  • Dammam Second and Third Industrial Cities (MODON)
  • King Abdulaziz Port and logistics zones
  • Qurayyah and Ras Tanura power and refining sites nearby
  • Saudi Aramco and contractor headquarters in Dhahran and Khobar
  • Steel, pipe and fabrication factories

Typical work

  • Factory maintenance: mechanical, electrical and instrumentation
  • Warehouse and yard operations with forklifts and telehandlers
  • Heavy transport between the port, Jubail and project sites
  • Fabrication and coating work for regional projects
When demand peaks
Demand is steady through the year with peaks when Jubail and Ras Tanura shutdowns pull crews from the region.
Accommodation and transport
Crews are housed in AKFAL accommodation in Jubail or Dammam depending on the contract, with daily transport.

Questions applicants ask

Do I need experience?

Yes — three or more years running a camp or accommodation facility for an industrial workforce. Hotel or hospitality supervision is a good background.

Which certificates do I need?

No single certificate is mandatory; food-safety training and fire-warden training are expected, and audit experience matters most.

Iqama, transfer and visa

Camp bosses with a transferable Iqama first. The role needs Arabic and English, and a language spoken by the crews is a strong advantage.

Hours and shifts

Camp management is a live-in or nearby role with regular hours and on-call cover for the camp's 24-hour operation.

Where would I live in Dammam?

Crews are housed in AKFAL accommodation in Jubail or Dammam depending on the contract, with daily transport.

How is salary decided?

Set from experience and confirmed in the written offer. Not published.
