About the job
AKFAL's Trading Division supplies industrial materials Kingdom-wide — from a single urgent valve to a full project material take-off. Procurement officers turn a client's material requisition into priced, certified, delivered goods: they read the specification, source from approved manufacturers and authorised channels, negotiate price and lead time, and make sure every consignment ships with the material test certificates and certificates of conformity the client's QA department will demand at the gate.
What you will do
- Read material requisitions, data sheets and approved vendor lists; identify the exact item, standard and certification required
- Request quotations from manufacturers and authorised distributors in the Kingdom and abroad; compare on price, lead time and compliance
- Negotiate and place purchase orders; track acknowledgements, production and shipping dates
- Collect MTC (EN 10204 3.1), certificates of conformity and country-of-origin papers before goods ship
- Keep the ERP purchase records, vendor files and price history current
What we look for
- 3+ years procurement of industrial materials — piping, valves, instrumentation, electrical or PPE — for oil, gas or petrochemical clients
- Able to read piping and instrument specifications and to match an item to ASME, API or IEC standards
- Working knowledge of Aramco or SABIC approved vendor lists and material certification requirements
- Strong written English for RFQs and supplier correspondence; Arabic an advantage
- Confident with Excel and an ERP purchasing module
Certificates that help
- Diploma or degree in engineering, supply chain or business
- CIPS or CSCP, an advantage
- Training in material certification / MTC review
- Saudi driving licence, an advantage
Working in Dammam
Dammam and the Dammam–Khobar–Dhahran metro area hold the Second and Third Industrial Cities, King Abdulaziz Port, power and desalination plants, and the regional offices of the EPC and maintenance contractors AKFAL works with. The work is more varied than in Jubail: factory maintenance, warehousing and logistics, utilities and camp services alongside plant trades.

Do I need experience?
Yes — three or more years buying industrial materials for plants or contractors. Experience buying office supplies or consumer goods does not transfer; the test is matching a valve data sheet to the right manufacturer and certificate.
Which certificates do I need?
No single certificate is mandatory. An engineering or supply-chain qualification is expected; CIPS or CSCP helps. What we test is spec reading and vendor knowledge.
Iqama, transfer and visa
Candidates inside Saudi Arabia with a transferable Iqama are placed first. Saudi nationals are especially welcome for this role. We also recruit from abroad through licensed agencies for candidates with Gulf procurement experience.
Hours and shifts
Office hours in Jubail, Saturday to Thursday, with occasional supplier and site visits. Emergency supply requests can mean the odd evening call.

Crews are housed in AKFAL accommodation in Jubail or Dammam depending on the contract, with daily transport.
How is salary decided?
Decided by experience, the vendor network you bring and a practical sourcing test, and confirmed in a written offer before you accept. We do not publish figures.
