About the job
A technical sales engineer at AKFAL is the person a plant buyer calls when a line is down and a valve, a set of flanges or a hazardous-area junction box is needed by tomorrow. The job is half engineering and half account management: understand the client's specification, quote the right product from the right manufacturer with the right certificate, and keep the relationship so the next requisition comes to AKFAL first. Clients are the petrochemical, refining and power plants of Jubail, Ras Al Khair and Dammam and the contractors that serve them.
What you will do
- Visit plant procurement and maintenance departments and contractor offices across the Eastern Province
- Read enquiries and specifications; prepare technical and commercial quotations with the procurement team
- Present manufacturers' product ranges — valves, piping, instrumentation, electrical, tools, PPE — and answer technical questions
- Follow quotations through to order, delivery and payment; resolve technical queries after delivery
- Keep the CRM and pipeline current; report on enquiries, wins and losses
What we look for
- Degree in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation or chemical engineering
- 3+ years selling industrial products or services to plants or EPC contractors in the Gulf
- Able to read piping, instrument and electrical specifications and speak to engineers in their own terms
- Fluent English; Arabic a strong advantage
- Saudi driving licence — the role is on the road
Certificates that help
- Engineering degree (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation or chemical)
- Product training from valve, instrumentation or electrical manufacturers, an advantage
- Saudi driving licence

Working in Jafurah
The Jafurah gas field, south-east of Al-Ahsa, is being developed in phases by Saudi Aramco with international EPC contractors. It is a construction environment rather than a running plant: gas processing trains, pipelines, compression and utilities being built at the same time, which means sustained demand for welders, pipe fitters, riggers, scaffolders, electricians and certified operators over several years.

Do I need experience?
Yes — three or more years of technical sales to industrial clients in the Gulf. Retail or consumer sales does not transfer; the interview includes a specification and a client scenario.
Which certificates do I need?
An engineering degree is required. Manufacturer product training is a plus but not mandatory.
Iqama, transfer and visa
Candidates already in Saudi Arabia with a transferable Iqama and a driving licence are placed first. Saudi nationals are especially welcome for this role.
Hours and shifts
Office hours with substantial travel between Jubail, Ras Al Khair and Dammam. Client emergencies occasionally run outside office hours.

How is salary decided?
Decided by experience and track record, with a written offer that states base pay and the commission structure before you accept. We do not publish figures.
